Windows machines may need a one-time extra step to connect BALSAM.

  1. Download and run Zadig.
  2. Put BALSAM in update mode: connect over USB-C, power off, press and hold the tuning encoder, power on. All LEDs will pulse slowly.
  3. In Zadig, click Options → List All Devices.
  4. Select BALSAM BOOTLOADER from the dropdown.
  5. Set the target driver on the right to WinUSB. The left side shows the driver currently bound — usually (NONE), STTub30, or libusbK. Any of the three is expected.
  6. Click Replace Driver.
  7. Power cycle BALSAM, then run the update again.
Advanced Options

Select a specific firmware version or upload a custom .bin file. Your choice arms the update button above.

Factory Reset

Reset all settings and tunings to factory defaults. Serial number is preserved. Power cycle the device after resetting.
